Dubai World Stamp Exhibition 2026: Global Philatelic Event Attracts 76 Countries And International Delegations

The Dubai World Trade Centre’s Maktoum Hall is set to host the "Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition" from 4th to 8th February 2026, bringing together collectors, experts, and postal organisations, in what will be the first FIP world stamp exhibition staged in the Arab region and West Asia.

The event aligns with two major milestones: the 30th anniversary of the Emirates Philatelic Association and the 100th anniversary of the International Federation of Philately (FIP), further reinforcing Dubai’s growing role as a venue for specialised global exhibitions attracting wide international participation.

Abdulla Mohammed Tayeb Khouri, Chairman of the Emirates Philatelic Association, stated, "The Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition will witness a record-breaking participation in terms of the number of countries, with 76 countries taking part for the first time in the history of FIP exhibitions." This reflects strong global interest in the philatelic sector.

Khouri explained that the exhibition offers a key platform for dialogue between philatelists, adding that it is expected to deepen friendly ties among collectors and encourage closer cooperation between philatelic societies, postal administrations, and hobbyists from different continents throughout the five-day schedule.

Khouri added, "The exhibition will also feature the participation of the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which will oversee a competition for postal administrations. Concurrently, the exhibition will be a judged event, with over 450 exhibitors competing before a jury panel comprising 40 FIP-accredited judges representing various countries." He noted that the events will include FIP-accredited lectures aimed at qualifying experts to become certified judges in this field.

The judged classes will sit alongside a broad educational programme. These accredited lectures are planned to help experienced collectors gain technical knowledge, understand international judging standards, and prepare to serve as certified jurors at future world and regional philatelic exhibitions sanctioned by FIP.

He continued, "In addition, 51 sales booths will participate, featuring postal administrations, dealers, auction houses, and specialty product suppliers for the hobby from around the world." These outlets are expected to provide collectors with access to rare items, new issues, and supporting materials.

Khouri pointed out that the exhibition’s agenda will feature specialised workshops and several key meetings, including the FIP Board meeting and the executive committee meeting of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), underlining Dubai’s function as a regional hub for administrative and strategic philatelic discussions.

Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition cultural and educational activities

Cultural and heritage events will run alongside the competitive displays to introduce visitors to UAE customs and traditions. The schedule will offer diverse activities designed for the public and school students, while a dedicated reading corner inside the exhibition will support learning and quiet study for younger audiences and specialists.

Khouri emphasised the vital role of postage stamps in preserving the UAE’s heritage and culture and showcasing its civilizational achievements. Despite rapid developments in communications and postal sectors that have reduced reliance on traditional mail, he noted that the postage stamp has transformed into a tool for highlighting national identity, as many countries continue to document major events and important occasions through diverse stamp issuances.

It is worth noting that the Emirates Philatelic Association secured the rights to host the Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition during its participation at the FIP Congress in Shanghai, China, on 2nd December 2024, and later received the official exhibition flag at the Korea Stamp Exhibition in August 2025, confirming Dubai as the next world philatelic host city.
