Dubai World Cup Among 33 Sporting Events To Enliven Ramadan
The Dubai World Cup, the pinnacle of the global horse racing calendar, is scheduled to coincide with the Holy Month of Ramadan. This prestigious event, taking place at the Meydan Racecourse, features a Group 1 flat race on dirt spanning 2,000 meters. Since its inception in 1996 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai World Cup has been celebrated for its lavish $12 million purse, securing its status as the world's wealthiest horse race.
Complementing the Dubai World Cup, the city is poised to host an array of 32 international and local sporting events in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council. Among these is the International Union's World Strongman Championship, set to unfold at the Emirates Sports Hotel. This event will challenge participants in a series of strength-based competitions to earn the title of the world's strongest man.

Another highlight is the Masters Cup Polo Championship, attracting elite polo players globally to the Al Habtoor Polo Club and Resort. Scheduled from April 1st to 6th, this tournament welcomes players with a handicap ranging from 6 to 8.
In Hatta, the Ramadan Sports Tournament stands as the region's largest sporting event during Ramadan. It encompasses a variety of sports such as futsal, volleyball, beach volleyball, badminton, road running races, weightlifting, walking races for senior citizens, and e-sports.
Football enthusiasts can look forward to several tournaments including the Al Wafa Ramadan Football Tournament, Legends Football Cup, and Al Quoz Ramadan Football Tournament. These events cater to players across different age groups and skill levels.
Additional activities include the Abena Pirates Diving Cup, a charity cycling race aiding those impacted by the conflict in Gaza, a women's paddle tennis tournament, and the NAS tournament at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex. The city will also host chess championships, polo tournaments, cycling races, triathlons, and various sports festivals and competitions throughout Ramadan.
