Dubai World Cup 2025 To Commence In April With Grand Celebrations

The Dubai World Cup meeting, a globally renowned horseracing event, is set for Saturday, 5th April 2025. This marks the conclusion of a 16-meeting Carnival at Meydan Racecourse. The 29th edition will be held a week later than usual, coinciding with Eid Al Fitr celebrations in the UAE.

The new season kicks off on Friday, 8th November 2024. The first feature race day, 'Festive Friday', occurs on 20th December with the AED1 million G2 Maktoum Mile as the highlight. Another key date is 'Fashion Friday' on 24th January 2025, featuring the AED3.68 million G1 Al Maktoum Challenge.

Dubai World Cup 2025 in April

Sheikh Rashed bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Racing Club, remarked, "The Dubai World Cup is one of the best-established sporting and social events of the year in Dubai. This incredible race meeting has grown year on year since its 1996 inception, and we look forward to welcoming the best horses, jockeys, trainers and owners from around the world to Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, 5th April, 2025."

On Emirates Super Saturday, scheduled for 1st March 2025, Meydan Racecourse will host the G2 Al Maktoum Classic. This race is another 'win and you’re in' event leading up to the Dubai World Cup.

Sheikh Rashed also highlighted additional racing days this season. "We are also delighted to offer two additional days of racing this season, providing more opportunities for horses based locally and those joining us from overseas," he said.

The Carnival has significantly influenced global horseracing by combining top-tier racing with entertainment and hospitality. Sheikh Rashed noted that new race days and an enhanced prize pool continue to attract elite participants worldwide.
