Dubai Warns Against Scamsters Posing As Government Officials, Advises Against Sharing OTPs
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has issued a warning to all customers about potential scams involving app login notifications.
These fraudulent activities often involve impersonators posing as government officials. Victims are prompted to approve UAE PASS login requests and share their one-time passwords (OTP), which can result in substantial financial losses.

GDRFA highlighted a recent increase in scams targeting individuals through its account on the X platform. The agency stressed the importance of rejecting any suspicious notifications immediately.
Customers are strongly advised not to share their OTPs with anyone under any circumstances. This precaution is crucial to prevent unauthorised access to personal accounts.
The GDRFA's advisory aims to protect residents from falling victim to these scams by raising awareness and providing clear instructions on how to respond to suspicious activities.
