Dubai Set To Host Landmark IFCC World Lab 2024 Event In May
Dubai is set to host the prestigious IFCC World Lab 2024, marking a significant milestone as the event takes place for the first time in the Middle East and Africa region. Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, this global conference is poised to bring together a diverse group of laboratory professionals and scientists. Scheduled from 26 to 30 May, the conference will unfold at the Dubai World Trade Centre, showcasing a series of five key events aimed at fostering the exchange of knowledge in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
The IFCC World Lab 2024 will feature the International Summit on Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, the Arab Union Summit for Biochemistry, the Saudi Society for Biochemistry Conference, the International Conference on Genetic Disorders, and the UAE Award for Genetic Disorder Reduction. This assembly of events underscores Dubai's commitment to advancing medical and scientific research.
During a press conference, key figures such as Ahmed Al Jumairi, Senior Manager at Dubai Business Events; Dr. Mariam Mohammed Matar, Founder and President of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association; and Dr. Fareeda Al Shemali, Deputy Chairperson of the UAE Award for Genetic Disorder Reduction, shared insights into the conference's objectives and its alignment with the UAE's health strategy. The event aims to cover the latest advancements in medical and genetic diagnostics for various health disorders and rare diseases, alongside focusing on clinical practices in regenerative medicine and healthy aging.
Speakers and exhibitors from 107 countries are expected to participate, making it a truly international event. The conference will conclude with a scientific discussion conducted in Arabic, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all topics addressed during the summit. Additionally, the third edition of the UAE International Genomics Awards will be launched to recognize significant advances in medical science.
