Dubai To Showcase Regional Tourism Excellence At Arab Tourism Media Awards 2024
Dubai is poised to become the focal point of the Arab tourism industry as it prepares to host the Arab Tourism Media Awards in 2024. This prestigious event, organized by the Arab Union for Tourist Media, will take place alongside the Arabian Travel Market from May 6th to 9th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The awards ceremony is a testament to the region's commitment to enhancing its tourism sector, spotlighting top destinations, and acknowledging those who have made noteworthy contributions to tourism services.
Dr. Sabah Allal, President of the Arab Union of Tourist Media, emphasized the awards' role in promoting tourism across Arab nations and supporting the hotel industry. By recognizing excellence in service provision, the awards aim to attract more tourists to these vibrant destinations. Dr. Allal highlighted the enthusiastic participation in this year's competition, noting that the 30-day nomination period, which started on December 1, 2023, saw a significant number of entries from various Arab tourism entities.

The judging panel for the awards was led by Dr. Lamiaa Mahmoud from Egypt, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation process. The winners were announced during a press conference at the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin (ITB) last March. A total of 34 Arab personalities, tourism institutions, and cities were honoured, showcasing the diverse and rich tourism landscape of the Arab world.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco, Kuwait, and Iraq were among the countries that secured the highest number of awards, demonstrating their outstanding contributions to the tourism sector. The participation spanned all Arab countries, underlining the widespread interest and commitment to advancing tourism across the region.
