Dubai Taxi Enhances Fleet, Market Share Climbs To 46%

Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has recently announced a significant expansion of its fleet, acquiring 94 new licence plates in the latest auction by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This move brings an additional 445 taxis into service in 2024, elevating DTC's total fleet to 5,660 vehicles. This strategic expansion is set to increase the company's market share to 46 percent, reinforcing its position as the leading transport operator in Dubai.

The addition of these vehicles not only demonstrates DTC's strong financial standing but also its commitment to growth and acquisition within the taxi sector. By increasing its fleet size, DTC aims to enhance its operational capabilities and continue providing world-class transport services to Dubai residents. The company's focus on innovation, distinctiveness, digitalisation, and sustainability plays a crucial role in meeting the daily mobility needs of the community.

Dubai Taxi's Fleet Grows, Hits 46% Market Share

Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, highlighted the importance of this expansion. He stated that the increase from 5,216 taxis in 2023 to 5,660 at the beginning of 2024 would significantly boost the company's total revenues for the year. This growth not only strengthens DTC's financial position on the Dubai Financial Market but also offers attractive returns for investors and enhances shareholder value.

Al Falasi further explained that this expansion supports DTC's goals of advancing and developing Dubai's transportation sector. It aims to accommodate the increasing demand for daily trips and contribute to the enhancement of the emirate's transport infrastructure. Moreover, he mentioned a notable 100 percent increase in DTC's airport taxi segment through the addition of 350 new environmentally friendly taxis, aligning with Dubai's global stature as a premier tourist destination and its demographic growth.

This strategic move is also in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which seeks to provide sustainable and versatile transportation options for everyone in the emirate. By expanding its taxi fleet, DTC is poised to play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives, ensuring top-notch transportation services that cater to the needs of Dubai's residents and visitors alike.
