Dubai Sky Map Launched By H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed To Enhance Airspace Management
The first phase of the Dubai Sky Map has been introduced by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who holds several key positions including Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Emirates Airline. This initiative aims to improve the supervision of civil aviation activities in Dubai's airspace. The platform integrates all maps related to DCAA services into one system, allowing for the tracking of air transport vehicles and cranes.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed announced this development during DCAA’s participation at GITEX Global 2024, held from 14th to 18th October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The platform is a significant step towards innovation and future readiness, aligning with DCAA’s vision. It serves as an interactive tool for managing airspace, offering comprehensive services related to DCAA on a unified platform.

The Dubai Sky Map plays a crucial role in managing airspace by providing live data on air transport movements and other services. This initiative enhances safety and efficiency in Dubai's air operations, reflecting DCAA’s dedication to developing innovative solutions for better performance and management of airspace.
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of DCAA, highlighted the importance of this launch: "The launch of the first phase of the Dubai Sky Map underscores a commitment to promoting innovation in the aviation sector and marks a significant step towards a safer and more sustainable future for the industry. We recognise that safety and security are the foundations of all our operations, and we continuously strive to develop solutions that align with global trends and best practices."
At GITEX Global 2024, DCAA will also present various advanced systems under the Dubai Digital platform. These projects aim to improve work quality and leadership standards in aviation management, ensuring air transport safety in Dubai. The focus is on showcasing smart initiatives and modern services while fostering collaboration with government and private entities.
Saeed Belhoul, Acting Director of DCAA’s Information Technology Department, stated: "The Dubai Sky Map platform is a key innovation aligned with our vision to drive progress and meet future needs. It consolidates all service-related maps into a single, interactive platform, including real-time monitoring of air transport, cranes, and other activities. This tool is essential for improving airspace safety and operational efficiency, showing our dedication to advancing solutions that enhance performance and optimise airspace management."
Digital Transformation Initiatives
The event will highlight DCAA's projects alongside recent advancements in digital services within the organisation. These initiatives support Dubai’s goal to digitise life aspects in the emirate, promoting an innovative digital work environment that aids its development as a global aviation hub.
This ambitious project not only enhances operational efficiency but also supports sustainable development efforts in Dubai. By integrating advanced technologies into its operations, DCAA aims to improve quality of life while maintaining high standards in aviation safety.
