Dubai's RTA Completes Key Infrastructure Projects To Enhance Urban Living

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently announced the completion of a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents in various communities. This initiative, focusing on the construction of internal roads and streetlighting, spans across Margham, Lehbab, Al Lesaili, and Hatta. The comprehensive project includes 18 km of roadwork and the installation of lighting poles along an additional 17 km of existing streets. Furthermore, RTA has initiated extra road works in Lehbab and Al Lesaili to better cater to the local population's needs.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, highlighted that this project aligns with the directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; along with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council. The initiative aims to accommodate demographic growth and urban expansion in both residential and rural areas across Dubai. Al Tayer emphasized RTA's dedication to improving infrastructure, including roads, street-lights, and rainwater drainage systems, to enhance community well-being.

Dubai RTA Enhances Urban Infrastructure

In Margham, the project involved constructing 5 km of roads near Skydive Dubai along the Dubai-Al Ain Road. This includes pavements, rainwater drainage networks, and streetlights, benefiting over 1,100 residents. Lehbab's development features 4 km of paved roads with additional infrastructure for rainwater drainage and streetlights. It also includes lighting for existing streets extending 2 km near Lehbab Camels’ Racetrack, serving over 3,000 residents and facilitating better connectivity for a residential district under construction.

Al Lesaili's improvements span 7 km with street lighting enhancements for existing roads near Saih Assalam, Last Exit, and Al Qudra Lakes. This project aims to improve access for approximately 2,900 residents. In Hatta, 2 km of roads were constructed in Suhaila alongside necessary infrastructure works. This effort supports around 6,000 residents by improving entry/exit points and connecting a newly developed residential community with the broader road network.

Additionally, RTA has completed internal road construction in three residential districts: Al Quoz 2, Nad Al Sheba 2, and Al Barsha South 3. This extension covers 37 km across the districts and benefits around 12 thousand residents.

This series of projects underscores RTA's commitment to enhancing Dubai's infrastructure to support its growing population and urban development. By focusing on critical areas such as road construction and lighting improvements, RTA aims to ensure safer and more accessible communities for Dubai's residents.
