Dubai RTA’s 50 Initiatives Reach Over 5 Million Beneficiaries In 2023

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has made significant strides in community service and volunteerism, with its initiatives reaching over 5.235 million beneficiaries globally in 2023. These efforts, spanning community development to national identity, were achieved through collaborations with various partners. Rashed Abdulkarim Al Mulla, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at RTA, highlighted the alignment of these initiatives with RTA's strategic goals for 2024-2030, focusing on enhancing the authority's reputation and fostering values such as leadership and tolerance.

Among the standout initiatives were the "1 Billion Meals Endowment" campaign, impacting 5 million people worldwide, and the "Kiswat Khair" initiative, which assisted 60,000 individuals in need. Other significant projects included the "Modes of Good" and "Ramadan Aman" campaigns, supporting 40,000 and 100,000 beneficiaries respectively, alongside the "Ramadan Tent" project aiding 3,000 individuals. Al Mulla also noted RTA's contribution to education and well-being in countries like Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Egypt through the provision of school buses and classrooms.

RTA's Global Impact in 2023

RTA's dedication to People of Determination was evident in its support for the Dubai 2023 Grand Prix - 14th Fazza International Para Athletics World Championships 2023, benefiting 1,500 athletes. The authority also backed a walking initiative for individuals with Down Syndrome and participated in the 5th AccessAbilities Expo 2023 to showcase innovations aiding People of Determination.

In 2023 alone, RTA executed 21 volunteer initiatives with 1,258 volunteers dedicating over 5,066 hours across various projects. These ranged from environmental efforts like the "Clean UAE Campaign" and "Planting Mangrove Trees" to cultural engagements such as supporting the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature by providing transportation for participants.

During the Month of Reading, RTA launched five initiatives aimed at promoting literacy among employees and students. These included a book writing project and workshops on reading significance and research paper writing techniques. Recreational activities for employees featured trips to Dubai's cultural attractions like the Museum of the Future and IMG Worlds of Adventures.

Al Mulla's comments underscore RTA's commitment to leveraging its resources and network to make a tangible impact on communities both locally and internationally. Through these diverse initiatives, RTA not only contributes to societal development but also reinforces Dubai's position as a city that values giving back to the community.
