Dubai's CDA Rolls Out Campaign To Aid Rain-Hit Communities Via Jood Platform
In a significant move to aid those affected by recent heavy rains in Dubai, the Community Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a relief campaign under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. This campaign, named 'Tadhamon' (solidarity), is designed to harness community contributions through the CDA’s ‘Jood’ digital platform, offering a streamlined avenue for support.
The 'Tadhamon' campaign falls under the broader efforts of the ‘Committee for Assisting Weather-Affected Citizens in Dubai’, established by Sheikh Hamdan's directives. It aims to mobilize resources from private sector entities, businesspeople, and society members to assist those whose homes and properties have been impacted by the adverse weather conditions.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, highlighted the overwhelming response from the community, with numerous businesses and individuals expressing their eagerness to contribute. The initiative not only facilitates financial contributions towards repairing damages but also reflects the unity and resilience of the Emirati society in facing crises.
The ‘Jood’ platform plays a pivotal role in this campaign, serving as a pioneering channel for community contributions. It aims to establish a robust social framework by inviting diverse participation in healthcare, education, and social support programmes. The platform ensures transparency and efficiency, fostering collaboration among different sectors to strengthen Dubai's social fabric.
Financial aid collected through this campaign will benefit individuals registered with the Community Development Authority and those affiliated with charities and institutions participating on the ‘Jood’ platform. This initiative underscores the commitment of Dubai’s leadership and its citizens towards supporting community members in times of need.
The committee overseeing this effort includes representatives from key governmental bodies such as Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Department of Economy and Tourism, led by Omar Bushahab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. Their collective task is to ensure that assistance reaches affected citizens promptly and effectively.
This concerted effort exemplifies Dubai's proactive approach to community care and empowerment, leveraging technology and societal goodwill to address emergent challenges. Through such initiatives, Dubai continues to build a resilient and supportive community infrastructure that can withstand adversities while fostering a spirit of solidarity among its members.
