Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme Attracts Over 1,000 Citizens, Forms 25 Strategic Partnerships

Since its inception in mid-March, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has seen a surge of interest in the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme, with over 1,000 Emirati citizens registering. This initiative is a cornerstone of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, aiming to significantly enhance the involvement of nationals in the real estate sector. To date, the programme has established 25 strategic partnerships with key players in development and real estate brokerage.

Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of the DLD, expressed his enthusiasm about the programme's reception among citizens and professionals alike. He highlighted the programme's role in reflecting the aspirations of Emiratis to become real estate brokers and its importance in reinforcing Dubai’s position in the global real estate market. The initiative also underscores the commitment of Dubai's real estate firms to support and implement leadership-driven initiatives that promote a conducive environment for nurturing national talent.

The programme kicked off with an inaugural training course by the New Economy Academy, setting the stage for over 15 workshops planned through the end of the year. These workshops are designed to empower and qualify participants, facilitating their entry into the real estate market by providing them with broker licenses. This effort is part of a broader "Rehabilitation Project" aimed at elevating standards within the brokerage sector through education on best practices and ethical guidelines.

Participants in the programme will benefit from various support packages offered in collaboration with private sector partners. These packages aim to boost the competitive edge of UAE citizens in the real estate sector through quality project development, joint ventures to stimulate growth, and initiatives promoting innovation and sustainability. Additionally, there is a commitment to allocate 10 percent to 15 percent of sales from development companies to be marketed by Emirati brokers, further supporting their professional advancement.

Expanding Citizen Brokerage Presence

The Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme seeks to triple the percentage of citizen brokers from 5 percent to 15 percent within three years. This move aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision under Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. These agendas aim not only to integrate 65,000 UAE nationals into the workforce but also to position Dubai as a leading hub for skilled professionals. The programme is a strategic step towards enhancing young Emiratis' participation in pivotal sectors and reinforcing Dubai's status as a nurturing ground for national talent.

In conclusion, this initiative represents a significant step forward in empowering Emirati citizens within the real estate sector, offering them extensive training, support, and opportunities for professional growth. Through strategic partnerships and dedicated training programmes, Dubai is set on a path to significantly increase national participation in its thriving real estate market.
