Dubai Press Club Convenes 9th Edition Of Emirati Media Forum With Key Media Figures

Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the ninth edition of the Emirati Media Forum (EMF) was held today, marking a significant gathering of the UAE's media elite. The forum saw the participation of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, alongside a host of Emirati media personalities, leaders of UAE media organisations, and prominent columnists, writers, and intellectuals.

Sheikh Ahmed underscored the pivotal role of local media in tackling crucial societal and economic issues. He emphasized that a robust media sector is essential for reflecting societal aspirations and navigating the complexities of today's global changes. The forum was highlighted as a key platform for engaging in meaningful dialogue on covering global shifts, in line with the UAE's ambitions to bolster its international presence in business, investment, and tourism under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

9th Emirati Media Forum Held

Sheikh Ahmed called on Emirati media to leverage their collective strengths to share the UAE's stories of success, innovation, and growth with the world. He stressed the importance of highlighting the nation's achievements and its leading position in global competitiveness indices and technological advancements.

Furthermore, Sheikh Ahmed expressed confidence in local media professionals' ability to uphold ethical standards and journalistic objectivity, contributing to national development. He also emphasized the significance of engaging youth in innovative endeavors to elevate industry excellence.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, focused this year's forum on critical economic discussions. She highlighted the UAE's economic growth, with non-oil foreign trade surpassing AED3.5 trillion in 2023. The forum explored how media can further enhance the country's economic achievements and solidify its status as a global economic hub.

Al Marri pointed out that skilled media professionals are crucial for providing an accurate portrayal of current economic trends and future outlooks. She reiterated the essential role of strategic communication and high media capabilities in affirming the UAE's leadership across various sectors. The commitment of the Dubai Press Club to fostering platforms like EMF for exchanging ideas on future sector trends was also emphasized.
