Dubai Police Set Final Preparations For 2026 New Years Eve Safety Across Major Celebration Hubs
Dubai Police have completed a detailed security and operations blueprint for the 2026 New Year’s Eve celebrations in Dubai, aiming to safeguard millions of residents and visitors at major landmarks while maintaining smooth movement across the city’s main roads, public spaces, and public transport networks during the peak festivities.
Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, chaired a coordination meeting with directors of general departments, police stations, and specialised field units, where teams aligned their responsibilities to guarantee public safety, visitor comfort, and efficient city-wide mobility during the New Year period.

The discussions covered a broad operational plan that targets smooth traffic flow, crowd control, and rapid emergency response, with particular attention to iconic celebration sites such as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Dubai Festival City, Global Village, and Burj Al Arab, which attract global media coverage and high visitor densities each year.
{TABLE_1}The operational framework rests on three main pillars: strategic deployment of security teams, integrated traffic management, and emergency readiness. Security and field personnel will be distributed across all primary celebration hubs and critical locations, while specialised teams coordinate with government, semi-government, and private entities to keep routes open and minimise congestion.
During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi highlighted that Dubai Police follow a proactive approach to strengthen trust within the community and among tourists, explaining that large-scale celebrations require precise coordination, clear communication channels, and the use of advanced technology across command centres and field operations.
"New Year’s Eve in Dubai is no longer just a local celebration; it is a global landmark event followed by millions around the world," said Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi. "Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. By working as a unified team with our partners, we are deploying our full human and technological resources to ensure Dubai remains a global leader in world-class event organisation and safety."
Dubai Police view the 2026 New Year’s Eve celebrations as an opportunity to reinforce Dubai’s standing as a secure destination for large events, with coordinated efforts across agencies designed to protect crowds, maintain traffic stability, and deliver a well-organised experience for residents and international visitors throughout the holiday period.
