Dubai Police, through the General Department of Human Rights and the Future Foresight Centre, conducted a workshop focused on future scenarios for women's protection by 2033. This initiative aligns with Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to bolster protection systems and enhance empowerment programmes. The workshop explored future pathways, addressing potential challenges and opportunities to develop effective policies safeguarding women.
Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khalifa Al Obaidah Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Future Foresight Centre, emphasised that foresight is crucial for enhancing security efforts. He stated that it equips Dubai Police to tackle challenges and seize opportunities, ensuring future readiness. "Protecting women remains a top priority within Dubai Police’s security framework," he added. "It requires us to be fully prepared to keep pace with changes, and to design proactive services and initiatives that guarantee their protection, preserve their rights against all forms of violence and discrimination, and advance our strategic vision of community safety and happiness."

The workshop aimed at developing models responsive to social, technological, and legal shifts. These models are intended to create more effective policies and programmes that ensure women's safety and empowerment at all levels. Participants examined various future scenarios for advancing women's protection while discussing community partnerships that promote a safe environment.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Al Matroushi, Director of the Child and Women Protection Department at the General Department of Human Rights, highlighted the importance of foresight in strengthening protection systems. "We do not view women’s protection solely as a security matter," he said. "It is deeply linked to quality of life and sustainable social development. In a rapidly changing world, our ability to anticipate and prepare is the foundation for building a safe and fair future for all."
Fatima Al Alili, Director of Future Scenarios, stressed scenario-based planning as vital for envisioning potential futures. This approach enhances institutional readiness for proactive decision-making amidst rapid transformations. The initiative reflects Dubai Police's forward-thinking strategies aligned with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and Dubai Social Agenda 2033.
This effort demonstrates Dubai Police's commitment to innovative approaches in strengthening protection for those needing care most. By fostering a safer society through proactive measures, they aim to build a cohesive community where everyone feels secure.
