Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Transport Security Department of Dubai Police and the airline flydubai. This strategic alliance, forged on the sidelines of the fifth UITP MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition 2024, underscores a shared commitment to advancing safe mobility across the emirate.
The MoU aims to foster mutual strategic cooperation through various initiatives, including training programs, the exchange of expertise, and the provision of security and technical services. Additionally, it seeks to ensure both entities have access to the latest global practices in service delivery. This collaboration was formalized through the signatures of Brigadier Obaid Al Hathboor, Director of the Transport Security Department, and Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai.

Brigadier Obaid Al Hathboor highlighted the importance of this partnership in enhancing communication and cooperation between the Transport Security Department and flydubai. He emphasized that such collaborations are pivotal for advancing safe mobility and integrating transportation systems within Dubai, aligning with the city's broader vision for development.
From flydubai's perspective, Hamad Obaidalla expressed that the MoU is a testament to the airline's dedication to enhancing aviation security. He noted that this agreement would bolster cooperation in key areas such as development, training, and technical services. Obaidalla also pointed out that such initiatives are crucial for expanding Dubai’s global connectivity and maintaining its status as a leading international aviation hub.
The signing ceremony took place during the UITP MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition 2024, an event hosted by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). This platform served as an ideal backdrop for announcing the MoU, reflecting the event's focus on innovation and collaboration within the transport sector.
This strategic MoU between the Transport Security Department of Dubai Police and flydubai marks a significant step forward in enhancing the safety, efficiency, and global reach of Dubai's transportation network. Through shared expertise and resources, both entities aim to contribute to the emirate's vision of becoming a world leader in safe and integrated mobility solutions.
