Dubai Police And Emirates Down Syndrome Association Forge New Partnership For Support
The People of Determination Empowerment Council at Dubai Police has recently forged a strategic alliance with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, marking a significant step towards enhancing support for individuals with Down syndrome. This collaboration is embodied in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering efforts in assistance and integration for these individuals into society.
Major Abdullah Hamad Al Shamsi, the Chairman of the People of Determination Empowerment Council at Dubai Police, alongside Dr. Manal Rafeeq Jaaror, the Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, solidified this partnership through the signing of the MoU. The ceremony saw the attendance of key figures from both organizations, including Captain Muhammad Al Mazrouei and Nawal Al Naser, Vice Chairpersons of the respective councils, among others.
During the ceremony, Major Al Shamsi underscored the Council's dedication to uplifting and empowering people with disabilities. This initiative aligns with broader strategic frameworks such as the Dubai Strategy for People of Determination, the Dubai Plan 2033, the National Policy for Empowering People of Determination, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Jaaror expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, recognizing it as a boost to the Association's efforts in ensuring social inclusion and equal opportunities for people of determination.
