Dubai Police Introduces Community Initiatives For Cybersecurity Awareness Month To Enhance Online Safety
Dubai Police have launched several initiatives to promote online safety during Global Cybersecurity Awareness Month this October. At a press conference, senior officers highlighted the importance of safeguarding the community from cyber threats and educating people on simple preventive measures. The event was attended by key figures from Dubai Police, including Lieutenant Colonel Dr Expert Saeed bin Abid and Major Engineer Khalil Al Hosani.
Among the initiatives are engaging competitions with cash prizes to boost participation. An awareness exhibition at the Officers Club aims to educate school students about online safety through interactive methods. Additionally, the eCrime Hub website serves as an educational resource. A notable feature is the "Capture the Flag" competition for ethical hackers and tech enthusiasts to enhance their cybersecurity skills.

This year's campaigns target school and university students, tourists, and the broader community. The goal is to teach individuals how to protect personal data and avoid scams or hacking attempts. Officers emphasised that education and awareness are vital defences against online dangers.
Dubai Police reiterated their dedication to community protection both offline and online by implementing global best practices. They are developing innovative awareness programmes that equip everyone with tools to confidently tackle online threats.
These efforts align with the UAE's broader vision of fostering a secure digital society. By promoting responsible technology use, Dubai Police aim to ensure lasting security and wellbeing for all residents. Their initiatives support building a resilient digital environment in line with national goals.
The presence of high-ranking officials like Major Dr Rashid Al Baloushi, Captain Saeed Adel Al Suwaidi, and First Lieutenant Saeed Al Wari underscored the significance of these initiatives. Their involvement highlights Dubai Police's commitment to enhancing cybersecurity awareness across various sectors of society.
The month-long campaign offers an opportunity for Dubai Police to raise digital safety awareness and demonstrate steps individuals can take for self-protection. Through these activities, they aim to empower people with knowledge and skills necessary for navigating the digital world safely.
