Dubai Police Partners With ESCD To Strengthen Fight Against Financial Crimes

In a significant move to bolster the fight against financial crimes in Dubai, the Dubai Police has entered into a strategic partnership with the Economic Security Centre of Dubai (ESCD) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to enhance the exchange of information and coordination efforts in tackling various forms of financial misconduct.

The MoU was officially signed by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, and Faisal Selaitin, Executive Director of the Economic Security Centre of Dubai. This agreement is a testament to both entities' commitment to reinforcing their partnership in combating financial crimes more effectively.

Dubai Police, ESCD Fight Financial Crimes

Expert Major General Khalil Al Mansouri underscored the importance of this agreement, stating it is in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The focus is on enhancing efforts to combat organised and cross-border crimes, including money laundering. He stressed that the MoU is crucial for strengthening collaborations with government, semi-governmental organisations, and the private sector to ensure unified roles and effective communication, thereby achieving efficient outcomes in fighting financial crimes.

Faisal Selaitin expressed his pride in this productive partnership with Dubai Police, highlighting it as a significant step forward in the nation's ongoing battle against financial crimes. He pointed out that this agreement would boost the emirate's capabilities to effectively address and mitigate such crimes. "It also enables the development of effective strategies to combat them aligned with the wise vision leadership to safeguard the country's financial and economic system," Selaitin added.

The MoU outlines several key areas of collaboration between Dubai Police and ESCD. These include developing shared communication mechanisms for information exchange, monitoring, and surveillance. Additionally, it encompasses joint awareness campaigns, enhancing the performance of employees and specialists from both entities through training courses and workshops, along with other supportive measures aimed at achieving their mutual goals.

This partnership marks a pivotal step in strengthening the emirate's defences against financial crimes. Through enhanced cooperation and shared expertise, Dubai Police and the Economic Security Centre of Dubai are setting a robust framework for safeguarding the economic integrity of the UAE.
