Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai has approved the 'Dubai Orchestra’ project. This initiative aims to boost Emirati arts and culture globally. It seeks to position Dubai as a cultural hub, nurture local talent, and enhance the arts sector's efficiency. The project reflects Dubai's commitment to cultural development and innovation.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that art serves as a universal language connecting people. He stated, "Art is a universal language that connects people and Dubai is a hub for initiatives that build bridges between cultures and celebrate creativity." The city supports cultural sectors by creating sustainable infrastructure for growth, aiming to enrich global culture.

The 'Dubai Orchestra’ project aligns with Dubai’s Creative Economy Strategy and Economic Agenda D33. These strategies aim to place Dubai among the top three urban economies worldwide. The orchestra will play a crucial role in achieving these objectives by nurturing local talent and enhancing the city’s cultural landscape.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the project's significance in strengthening Dubai's creative scene. She said, "Dubai’s position on the global cultural map results from the clear and inspiring vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose efforts have transformed our city into a vibrant home for creativity and artistic innovation."
The orchestra aims to have 50% Emirati members by 2033. It plans to launch initiatives focusing on community engagement, youth programmes, and educational opportunities. These efforts will empower emerging musicians, enhance their skills, and promote the region’s musical heritage.
Sheikha Latifa noted that music is a powerful expression of identity and shared experience. She added, "'Dubai Orchestra’ will be a catalyst for growth, reflecting our ongoing commitment to elevating the music sector, enabling creative talent, and deepening the role of the arts as a bridge between cultures."
Strategic Collaborations
The project supports 'Dubai Social Agenda 33’, aiming to make Dubai an exemplary city in living experience and cultural vibrancy over the next decade. Collaborations with renowned international orchestras are expected to foster social cohesion and provide creative outlets for future generations.
The initiative also seeks to embed culture into daily life in Dubai. By doing so, it enhances public appreciation of arts while enriching the city's cultural fabric through various artistic events.
