Dubai Municipality Achieves Multiple International Awards In Q3 2025 For Excellence In Sustainability And Innovation
Dubai Municipality has made significant strides in the third quarter of 2025, earning numerous international accolades. These awards highlight its commitment to smart city governance, sustainable infrastructure, and global best practices. Such efforts enhance Dubai's reputation as a forward-thinking city that prioritises quality of life and future readiness.
In human resources, Dubai Municipality excelled at the Brandon Hall Human Resources Awards. It secured second place for Best Training Programme with its "Public Health and Pest Control Certification Programme," which boosts staff skills in health and safety. The Municipality also earned second place for Best Leadership Competency Development Model through its Leadership Development Initiative, supporting Emiratisation and nurturing national leaders.

The Municipality's Robotic Process Automation initiative won first place in the Innovative Operations category at the Procurement Success Summit Awards. This initiative enhances efficiency and speeds up procurement processes. Additionally, the Warsan Waste-to-Energy Centre, known as the largest and most efficient globally, received recognition as the Best Power Generation Plant at the MEED Projects Awards 2025.
Dubai Municipality's sustainability efforts were further acknowledged with the Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award by Smart Business Group for its "3 Million Plastic Bottles Challenge." This initiative aims to reduce environmental harm while promoting recycling. Furthermore, it won first place in the global BIZZ Awards for business excellence, organised by the World Confederation of Businesses, recognising its governance, performance quality, digital innovation, and sustainability efforts.
The El Baz Award honoured Dubai Municipality in the Organisational Sustainability Excellence category for its Sustainable Social Responsibility Programmes in Dubai parks. Eng. Maitha Alnuaimi, Director of the GIS Centre Department at Dubai Municipality, was awarded first place in the Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award under Women Leadership for her contributions to institutional development and fostering a culture of quality.
The Arabia CSR and Sustainability Award 2025 recognised Dubai Municipality's collaboration with Dubai World Central in providing rainwater and groundwater drainage services. This partnership supports efforts to mitigate flooding and water accumulation issues.

At the International Best Practices Awards 2025, Dubai Municipality achieved a 6-Star Rating in Institutional Innovation for its integrated system of knowledge and innovation. The People of Determination-Friendly Recycling Centre received a 5-Star Rating in Environmental Management and first place for Best Practices in Governance.
Dubai Central Laboratory also earned a 6-Star Rating for Best Practices in Conformity Certification Services. Additionally, Dubai Municipality received a 5-Star Rating in the Excellence Award 2025 for its comprehensive ESG framework aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 through renewable energy expansion and carbon emission reduction initiatives.
