Dubai Municipality Unveils First Sand Equestrian Track In Hatta To Boost Tourism And Local Economy

Dubai Municipality has introduced the first sand equestrian track in Hatta, marking a significant development for horse riding enthusiasts. The initial phase of this project spans 2.54 kilometres in length and three metres in width. It offers a secure and thrilling environment for riders amid Hatta’s picturesque mountainous scenery.

The initiative is part of the Supreme Committee's efforts to oversee Hatta's development, aligning with a broader plan for regional growth. This project supports Dubai's vision to boost tourism, economy, and trade while providing Hatta with top-tier recreational facilities. The track aims to enhance the area's appeal as a tourist destination.

First Sand Equestrian Track Opens in Hatta

Beyond its appeal to sports lovers, the track is anticipated to spur new investments and foster small and medium-sized enterprises. Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, stated: "We are working to establish Hatta as a preferred destination for equestrian enthusiasts in Dubai, while preserving the heritage of horsemanship, which reflects Emirati identity and forms an integral part of our national heritage. At the same time, the track creates new economic opportunities that will benefit the local community and further strengthen Hatta’s position as one of the UAE’s most scenic and promising tourism destinations."

Visitors have the option to hire horses or bring their own to explore Hatta's natural beauty. The sand track adheres to international safety and quality standards, representing a milestone in diversifying leisure options in Dubai. This aligns with efforts to enhance living standards and position Dubai as a premier global city.
