Dubai Municipality Awards Contracts For Second Phase Of Al Mamzar Beach Development Project
Dubai Municipality has initiated the second phase of the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project, following directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This phase focuses on enhancing the beachfront at Al Mamzar Corniche, with both phases set to conclude by 2025. The entire project is estimated to cost AED400 million, aiming to establish a world-class beach tourism destination.
The development will span 125,000 square metres and include a dedicated women's beach at Al Mamzar Corniche Beach. This facility will prioritise privacy and safety with a gated entrance and fencing. It will also offer night swimming and amenities like a sports club, commercial services, and children's play areas.

The project aims to redefine global beach design by integrating advanced recreational, sports, and commercial facilities. These enhancements align with international standards while focusing on sustainability and climate change concerns. The development seeks to reinforce Dubai's status as a leading tourist hub by improving quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Al Mamzar Corniche will feature 1,000 metres of paths for running, walking, and cycling. These paths will connect Al Mamzar Creek Beach with Al Mamzar Park. This unique design merges beach paths with park areas, offering visitors a multifaceted experience.
The corniche will include green spaces designed to high aesthetic standards. Facilities will encompass a 5,000-square-metre area for events, a 2,000-square-metre skateboarding zone, children's play areas, restrooms, and beach lounges. Public health amenities such as toilets, changing rooms, showers, and services for people of determination will be available.
An administrative building will house a control room and first aid centre. Smart services like AI-supported surveillance systems and drowning rescue technologies will enhance visitor safety. Crowd management tools and smart luggage lockers are also planned to ensure a seamless experience.
Economic Opportunities
The development also aims to boost business opportunities by introducing waterfront restaurants and food outlets. Spaces for recreational activities are included to foster economic growth while enhancing visitor experiences.
Bader Anwahi of Dubai Municipality stated: "We continue to work towards the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the world’s best city to live, work, and visit." He emphasised their commitment to innovative infrastructure that aligns with Dubai's future ambitions.
Phase One Progress
The first phase began in June last year and is 45% complete. Covering 275,000 square metres with varying widths from 30 to 90 metres, it includes a pedestrian pontoon bridge connecting creek banks for easy access. A night swimming beach accessible for people of determination is also part of this phase.
This phase features three children's play areas and two recreational zones along with barbecue spots and jet ski marinas. Eight toilet blocks with changing rooms are included alongside eight outdoor shower areas and parking for 1,400 cars.
