Dubai Media City Highlights Multicultural Creativity And Collaboration At Global Media Congress

Dubai Media City, part of TECOM Group PJSC's business districts, is showcasing multicultural creativity at the Global Media Congress (GMC) in Abu Dhabi. The event runs until 28th November at the ADNEC Centre. Since its inception over two decades ago, Dubai Media City has been a hub for knowledge exchange and creativity. It is part of TECOM Group's Media Cluster, which includes Dubai Production City and Dubai Studio City.

The cluster has seen significant growth, with customer numbers rising by 10% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2024. This increase brings the total to over 4,000 businesses and a talent pool exceeding 40,500 creative professionals. Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, emphasised the importance of creative talent collaborating to shape the industry's evolution in a globalised media landscape.

Dubai Media City Showcases Global Collaboration

Al Suwaidi stated that their presence at the Global Media Congress reinforces their commitment to strengthening the creative economy through impactful global collaboration. He highlighted that Dubai Media City is sharing insights on industry trends and the power of its international community. The district is also presenting findings from its 2024 Digital Creative Economy white paper.

The white paper, launched in September alongside TECOM Group's Dubai Design District (d3), identifies AED27 trillion growth opportunities in the global digital creative economy by 2030. Developed with Monstarlab, it explores how disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, Web3, and virtual reality are impacting the media sector.

Start-ups from in5 Media, TECOM Group's entrepreneurship incubator based at Dubai Production City, are also participating in GMC. These start-ups represent media innovation leaders such as AI Studio and Procreative. In5's Iinfinitty and BitAffix are showcasing their innovations at Innovate Stage & NexTech.

Dubai Media City's participation at GMC highlights its role as a leader in fostering creativity and innovation within the media industry. By supporting start-ups and exploring future opportunities through technology, it continues to drive growth and collaboration on a global scale.
