Now You Can Dock Private Boats At Marine Stations With This New RTA Collaboration
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated collaboration with the Dubai Maritime Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation to enhance and innovate the mechanism for 360-degree services concerning marine transport. This partnership aims to streamline services through the integration of electronic systems between the RTA and the Dubai Maritime Authority, particularly focusing on the short-term rental of marine berths. This initiative allows private boats to dock at marine stations for brief durations without the need for overnight stays.
The formalization of this cooperation was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two entities. Representing the Dubai Maritime Authority, Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director, signed the MoU, while Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency, signed on behalf of the Roads and Transport Authority.

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum emphasized the Dubai Maritime Authority's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with government entities, private sectors, and stakeholders involved in maritime activities within Dubai. The aim is to support the ambitious vision of cultivating a dynamic and secure maritime sector, pivotal for sustainable economic growth in the Emirate. The Authority is dedicated to enhancing maritime safety standards and advancing green maritime initiatives in adherence to both local and international regulations, thereby ensuring a safe and conducive maritime environment for operational and business success.
Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan expressed satisfaction over the signing of the memorandum, highlighting the RTA's dedication to collaborating with relevant authorities for the advancement of maritime transport services and related areas. The objective is to elevate customer satisfaction and enhance the quality of services provided. Additionally, the RTA aims to improve the licensing services for marine vessels registered with the Dubai Maritime Authority by electronically connecting with insurance companies within the RTA's system. It also seeks to better the licensing process for marine vessel crews by integrating eye examination data from the RTA's system. These efforts are geared towards simplifying procedures between the two parties, facilitating departmental processes, and ensuring seamless access to customer and marine vessel registration data.
This partnership reflects a significant step towards integrating and optimizing maritime transport services in Dubai, demonstrating a concerted effort to enhance operational efficiencies and customer experiences in the maritime sector.
