Dubai Mallathon Launches Tomorrow To Promote Health Across Nine Shopping Malls
The Dubai Mallathon, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is set to commence tomorrow across Dubai's major malls. This citywide fitness initiative transforms indoor spaces into air-conditioned tracks for walking and running. It aligns with the Year of Community campaign, Dubai Social Agenda 33, and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 33, promoting a healthier lifestyle in a climate-controlled environment.
Organised in nine prominent malls including Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, the event offers over 10 kilometres of safe indoor tracks. These facilities are open from 7 to 10 am throughout August. The initiative encourages residents and visitors to integrate fitness into their daily routines through various activities held daily across participating locations.

A vibrant calendar of events awaits participants during weekends, featuring sports challenges and community competitions for all ages. More than 40 iPhones, 10 tablets, shopping vouchers, gift cards, and other prizes will be distributed to inspire public engagement. The festive atmosphere aims to foster community cohesion and wider participation.
The Ministry of Defence supports this initiative as part of its commitment to enhancing public health and quality of life in Dubai and the UAE. "We adopt a holistic approach to building a cohesive society," stated the Ministry. "Physical activity is vital to wellbeing, reflecting our leadership’s vision to embed sport as a cornerstone of daily life."
Saeed Hareb from the Dubai Sports Council remarked on the initiative's alignment with Sheikh Hamdan's vision for community health. "This initiative reflects His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed’s vision," he said. "It underscores Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for sport." The Mallathon encourages participants to embrace fitness in an accessible setting.
The event stands out for its inclusive approach, involving youth, children, senior citizens, mall staff, and 'MyDubai Communities' members. Sponsored by the Ministry of Defence and organised with the Dubai Sports Council's collaboration, it enjoys support from various public and private partners.
