Dubai's RTA Rolls Out Touristic Bus Initiative To Boost City Attractions
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will introduce the On & Off Bus (Touristic Bus) in September 2024. This initiative aims to attract both residents and visitors to explore the city's iconic landmarks and attractions. Dubai, known for its constant innovation, offers a variety of unique experiences for everyone.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency at RTA, emphasised the importance of tourism in boosting Dubai's economy and GDP. He stated, "The increasing influx of tourists, businesspeople, and investors descending on Dubai from around the globe are drawn by the UAE’s safety, security, world-class services and robust infrastructure across all sectors, including public transportation, unique tourist attractions, and the universal respect and appreciation for tourists and visitors."

The On & Off Bus will enhance Dubai's public transport system by connecting with other modes like metro, marine transport, and public buses. Al Ghubaiba station will serve as a key hub for these connections. This integration aims to provide a seamless travel experience for both residents and tourists.
Bahrozyan elaborated on the bus route, stating that it will start from Dubai Mall and cover eight major attractions: Dubai Frame, Heritage Village, Museum of the Future, Gold Souk, La Mer Beach, Jumeirah Mosque, City Walk, and Al Ghubaiba Metro Station. The bus will make nine stops in total.
Passengers can board the On & Off Bus from Dubai Mall between 10 AM to 10 PM. The bus will run every 60 minutes. The entire journey through these landmarks will take approximately two hours. The fare is set at AED35 per person for a day-long ticket.
Bahrozyan added that this service would allow residents and visitors to "Discover Dubai, One Stop at a Time." This initiative is part of RTA's broader strategy to integrate various modes of public transport in Dubai.
The introduction of this touristic bus is expected to significantly contribute to Dubai's tourism sector by offering an easy way to visit multiple attractions in one trip. This new service aligns with RTA's commitment to enhancing public transport options in the emirate.
This initiative reflects RTA's ongoing efforts to support tourism while providing efficient public transport solutions. It aims to make exploring Dubai more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The On & Off Bus service is another step towards making Dubai a more tourist-friendly city while supporting its economic growth through enhanced tourism infrastructure.
