Dubai Health Authority Unveils Mental Wealth Framework For Enhanced Community Health

Under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced a comprehensive framework to support mental wealth in Dubai's community. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to make Dubai the world's best destination for living, working, and visiting.

Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the DHA, stated, "Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai continues to advance across various fields and strengthen its status as a leading global city and community of the future. The Mental Wealth Framework, endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan during a meeting of The Executive Council, introduces a comprehensive set of initiatives that will enhance Dubai's global reputation as a preferred destination for quality of life."

Mental Wealth Framework

The Mental Wealth Framework is designed to enhance Dubai's unique lifestyle proposition and support its diverse community. It employs innovative solutions based on best practices to promote mental well-being. The framework benchmarks against the top six global models to ensure high standards.

Al Ketbi emphasised that mental wealth is crucial for community health and welfare. He noted that achieving this requires scientific intervention to manage daily life pressures. The framework aims to integrate various initiatives for early detection, intervention, enhancement, and prevention.

Dubai Social Agenda 33

The new framework supports the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. It aims to position Dubai among the world's top three cities in terms of standard of living and achieve a top ten ranking in life expectancy globally. This will be done by promoting key elements of mental well-being within Dubai's community.

The initiative includes ten projects aimed at achieving high levels of mental wealth over five years at a cost of Dh105 million. These projects will focus on early detection and providing high-quality care and counselling services.

Key Objectives

The Mental Wealth Framework aims to develop a comprehensive model of care that includes all aspects of mental wealth services. This involves early detection and intervention for factors affecting an individual's mental state or positive energy levels.

Additionally, the framework focuses on empowering school staff and parents to develop students' psychological capacities. It seeks to increase satisfaction and happiness among community members through various initiatives.

Another strategic objective is promoting research and innovation. A series of studies will be conducted to measure psychological stability continuously. This research will focus on prioritised groups such as the elderly, children, people with chronic diseases, and people of determination.

Al Ketbi added that cooperation with relevant entities and community members is essential for achieving the framework's aims. The DHA will work with these groups to harness necessary tools and enablers.

The initiative also supports developing an efficient health system that meets global standards by promoting healthy lifestyles and enhancing preventive services. This aligns with the goals of establishing an effective social system in protection, care, and empowerment under the Dubai Social Agenda 33.

This comprehensive approach ensures that all segments of society receive exceptional care for their mental well-being needs. By focusing on early detection and high-quality support services, Dubai aims to enhance psychological stability within its community.
