Dubai Judicial Institute Unveils Winners Of Second Future Research Competition Promoting Legal Innovation

The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) has revealed the winners of the second 'Future Research Competition'. This initiative is designed to encourage scientific exploration and legal innovation, aligning with DJI's strategic goals to enhance knowledge while supporting legal and judicial research. The competition attracted significant interest, with over 50 research papers and scientific books submitted for evaluation.

Submissions were rigorously assessed through a three-stage process. This included verifying adherence to scientific standards, conducting a comprehensive peer review, and performing final judging. The themes covered in these submissions were diverse, including space law, green economy, sustainable development, startups, cybersecurity, and AI applications.

Winners Announced for Future Research Competition

Dr. Ibtisam Al-Badwawi, Director-General of DJI, praised the high calibre of submissions. She emphasised the competition’s contribution to advancing DJI’s vision of promoting legal scholarship and innovative research. Dr. Al-Badwawi stated that such initiatives help strengthen Dubai’s evolving legal landscape by enriching its legal library with authoritative scientific works.

She further remarked on the participants' sophisticated legal perspectives on emerging fields like digital justice and artificial intelligence. The winning entries will be published by DJI’s publishing house in both print and digital formats. The top three books will be featured in the esteemed ‘Studies and Research Series’. Additionally, leading research papers will appear in a special edition of the Institute's peer-reviewed journal.

All qualifying submissions that meet publication standards will be considered for future journal issues. This includes non-winning entries that demonstrate exemplary academic merit. Such recognition underscores the importance of fostering academic excellence within the legal community.

This competition not only highlights exceptional intellectual rigour but also supports Dubai's commitment to advancing its legal framework through innovative research. By encouraging exploration in new areas like AI applications and sustainable development, DJI is paving the way for future advancements in these critical fields.
