Dubai International Marine Club To Host Thrilling XCAT World Championship

The Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) has embarked on a significant partnership, securing the rights to host the final round of the XCAT World Championship for the next three years. This move, spearheaded by the DIMC's Chairman, Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, underscores the club's strategic intent to become a hub for premier international maritime competitions. The agreement was formalized in a ceremony attended by key figures including Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falasi, a board member and the Executive Director of DIMC, and Thomas Kurth, Secretary-General of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM).

This collaboration aligns with DIMC's objective to draw leading global championships to Dubai, enhancing its reputation as a center for maritime sports. Furthermore, it demonstrates robust support for the "Victory Team" and other Emirati teams participating in the championship. The announcement comes on the heels of the Victory Team's commendable performance at the Fujairah Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats, marking their triumphant return after a hiatus in 2022 and 2023. The team, known for holding the record with five title wins, showcased their prowess in what is considered one of powerboating's most thrilling events.

Dubai Hosts XCAT Championship

The Dubai Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats is set to make its grand return to the emirate from December 6th to 8th, 2024. This event will not only conclude the 2024 World Championship calendar but also celebrate the sport's vibrant community and competitive spirit. The decision to host this prestigious event reflects both the successful track record of Emirati teams in international competitions and Dubai's growing stature as a global sports destination.

The XCAT World Championship is renowned for its high-octane races, featuring extreme catamarans that navigate through challenging courses at impressive speeds. This championship has consistently attracted a wide audience and participation from teams around the world, making it a spectacle of speed and strategy on water.

As Dubai prepares to welcome this distinguished event back to its shores, the anticipation among fans and participants alike is palpable. The DIMC's commitment to hosting the XCAT World Championship underscores its dedication to promoting maritime sports and providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills on an international stage. With this three-year contract, Dubai is poised to further cement its position as a leading destination for sports tourism and maritime excellence.
