Dubai International Chamber Launches First Representative Office In Sweden To Enhance Trade Relations

Dubai International Chamber has opened a new office in Stockholm, aiming to enhance business connections between Dubai and Sweden. This initiative is part of the 'Dubai Global' strategy, which seeks to boost trade and investment opportunities between the two regions. The office was inaugurated with key figures such as Benjamin Dousa, Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, attending the ceremony.

The establishment of this office marks Dubai Chambers' first presence in the Nordic region. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, stated that this move is crucial for their global expansion efforts. He highlighted Sweden's vibrant business environment as a promising area for collaboration. "The opening of our Swedish office marks a significant step in our global outreach and reinforces our strategic focus on the Nordic region," he said.

Dubai Chamber Opens Office in Sweden

In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Sweden reached AED 3.9 billion, showing a 5.3% annual growth. This reflects the increasing interest from Swedish companies in exploring business opportunities in Dubai. By mid-2025, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce had 940 active Swedish members, with 127 joining in just the first half of that year.

The new Stockholm office aims to attract more Swedish businesses to Dubai by showcasing investment opportunities available there. It serves as a gateway for Swedish companies looking to expand into the Middle East market, offering them support and guidance.

Dubai International Chamber's network of representative offices spans five continents. These offices are essential in drawing businesses, investments, and talent to Dubai. They act as strategic platforms promoting Dubai as a prime business destination while providing local support for companies aiming to enter the emirate.

The chamber’s efforts are focused on fostering partnerships that enhance Dubai’s status as a global trade hub. Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of these offices in strengthening international ties and facilitating business growth.

This expansion aligns with Dubai's broader goals of becoming a leading global business centre. By establishing strong international connections through its representative offices, Dubai aims to solidify its position on the world stage.
