Dubai International Chamber Launches New Representative Office In Dhaka To Enhance Trade Relations

Dubai International Chamber has launched a new international office in Dhaka. This move aims to enhance trade and investment ties between Dubai and Bangladesh. The new office is part of the 'Dubai Global' initiative, which plans to establish 50 international offices by 2030. This expansion increases the chamber's global network to 35 offices.

The Dhaka office was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by Abdulla Ali Abdulla Alhmoudi, UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh, and representatives from the Bangladeshi business community. The launch coincides with growing economic cooperation between Dubai and Bangladesh. In 2024, non-oil trade between these markets reached AED6.3 billion, marking a 9% increase from AED5.8 billion in 2023.

New Dubai Office Opens in Dhaka for Trade

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the significance of this development. He stated, "Bangladesh is a dynamic and fast-growing market that offers significant opportunities for Dubai-based companies. The launch of our new office in Dhaka represents a major step forward in strengthening the economic partnership between our markets that will play a key role in building connections between businesses, facilitating trade relations, and attracting investment – all of which contribute to consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global business hub. We are confident that this office will open up new horizons for fruitful economic cooperation."

The Dhaka office will focus on supporting businesses in both regions by fostering engagement with the Bangladeshi business community. It aims to build strong relationships with stakeholders from both public and private sectors. Additionally, it will highlight Dubai's competitive edge as a global business hub while providing crucial investment information to assist Bangladeshi companies entering the Dubai market.

This initiative also seeks to aid Dubai-based companies looking to expand into Bangladesh. The office will offer market intelligence, identify business opportunities, and connect local firms with reliable partners who can facilitate their entry and growth in Bangladesh.

The increasing interest in doing business with Dubai is evident from the number of active Bangladeshi companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. By the end of Q1 2025, there were 9,094 active companies.

This strategic move aligns with Dubai's goal of attracting foreign direct investment and supporting local companies' international expansion into priority markets worldwide.
