Dubai Boat Show Cements City's Status As Top Marine Tourism Hub
The Dubai International Boat Show recently concluded, marking a significant week for the yachting industry with notable boat sales and strategic discussions that are set to influence the future of marine leisure. The event, which took place over five days, underscored Dubai's growing reputation as a premier destination for marine leisure tourism. It facilitated connections between major boat builders and high-net-worth individuals, leading to impactful sales and partnerships.
Athaus Yachts, participating in the show, announced the sale of their Lamborghini 63 by Tecnomar Yachts. SanLorenzo also reported the sale of three yachts, emphasizing the show's role in reaching both new and existing clients. Gulf Craft Group celebrated multiple sales across its brands, including the award-winning Majesty Yachts and the sleek Silvercraft and SilverCAT brands. Additionally, MTM Group marked its 18th participation by selling over ten jet skis.

Sustainability was a key theme at the Dubai International Boat Show, with Sunreef showcasing two fully electric yachts. These yachts are designed with energy efficiency in mind, featuring sustainable air conditioning systems and components made from plant-based composites. Azimut highlighted its commitment to eco-friendly practices through its 'green path', which includes innovations such as the first fuel cell tested on board and a fleet of Low Emission Yachts.
Future Plans and Expansion
The decision to host the 31st edition of the show at Dubai Harbour in February 2025 was confirmed during the event by Trixie LohMirmand of Dubai World Trade Centre and Abdulla Binhabtoor of Shamal Holding. The Captain’s Club announced its expansion into Kuwait, reflecting the growth of the regional maritime sector. Marine Services One revealed partnerships with three new companies - Italvipla, Osmosea, and Tikal Marine Systems - enhancing its service offerings in yacht repairs, refits, and marine equipment distribution.
