Dubai Set To Host Inaugural World Triathlon Women’s Cup On December 7, 2025
Dubai is gearing up to host the inaugural 2025 World Triathlon Women’s Cup on 7th December 2025. This groundbreaking event will take place at the renowned Dubai Islands, organised by the Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation and overseen by World Triathlon. It signifies a major milestone in promoting women's sports through the 'Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Campaign'.
The event aligns with the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, which aims to revolutionise the emirate's sports landscape. This ambitious plan focuses on empowering clubs, nurturing talent, encouraging community involvement, and establishing Dubai as a premier global sports hub. With 19 programmes and 75 initiatives, it seeks to add AED 18.3 billion to Dubai’s GDP by 2033.

DP World has been announced as the official partner for this prestigious event, reinforcing Dubai's commitment to enhancing women's participation in sports. The competition will be hosted by Dubai Holding, while Dubai Sports Channel will handle broadcasting duties. These partnerships are crucial in ensuring the event's success and reach.
Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & MD of DP World GCC, expressed pride in supporting this landmark event. Organisers have ramped up preparations with regular coordination meetings involving key stakeholders such as World Triathlon, UAE Triathlon Federation, Dubai Police, Road & Transport Authority, and Dubai Holding. These efforts aim to ensure a professionally managed competition that provides a safe environment for all participants.
The competition will feature various categories covering swimming, cycling, and running disciplines. There will be an elite individual professionals category alongside an individual sprint category for amateurs. The latter involves 750 metres of swimming, 20 kilometres of cycling, and 5 kilometres of running.
Diverse Participation Opportunities
Additionally, an individual super-sprint category is available for age-group and beginner participants. This category includes 400 metres of swimming, 10 kilometres of cycling, and 2.5 kilometres of running. These diverse options cater to different skill levels and encourage broader participation.
This historic event not only highlights female athleticism but also underscores Dubai's strategic vision for its sports sector. By hosting such events, Dubai continues to position itself as a leading destination for international sporting competitions.
