Dubai Harbour Marinas Earns Historic Triple Accreditations from Yacht Harbour Association
Dubai Harbour has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by securing three prestigious accreditations from The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), including the highly sought-after Gold Anchor award. This recognition not only underscores the marina's exceptional quality but also marks Dubai Harbour as the first in the region to receive the Clean Marinas and Super Yacht Ready titles. Achieving these accolades on their first attempt, and simultaneously, sets a new global precedent for marina excellence under TYHA's standards.
The Yacht Harbour Association's global marina accreditations are well-regarded in the industry, serving as a benchmark for evaluating marina quality across six key categories: Ambiance, Customer Service, and Environmental considerations, among others. The presentation of these prestigious flags to Dubai Harbour was conducted by Jon White, General Manager of TYHA, highlighting the marina's commitment to providing world-class facilities and services.

Abdulla Binhabtoor, Chief Portfolio Management Officer at Shamal Holding, the owner and curator of Dubai Harbour, expressed gratitude for this recognition. He emphasized the vision behind Dubai Harbour was to reconnect Dubai with its maritime heritage and offer an unparalleled gateway for maritime lifestyle and journeys. The marina's comprehensive home port solution caters to both local and international boat owners, passengers, and crew, enhancing Dubai's appeal as a premier cruising destination.
Jon White commended the Dubai Harbour Marinas team for their dedication to achieving these accreditations. He noted that attaining even one of these awards is challenging, making their accomplishment of securing all three simultaneously particularly impressive. This success is attributed to the team's advocacy for high standards within the marina industry, led by Wayne Shepherd (CMM), Director – Marinas at Dubai Harbour.
Dubai Harbour stands as the region's largest marina, boasting close to 700 berths capable of accommodating yachts up to 160m in length. It features a dedicated superyacht marina and a fuelling station for vessels up to 50m. The marina provides direct access to the Arabian Gulf's open waters, with no limitations on water depths or air draughts.
In line with its commitment to sustainability and innovation, Dubai Harbour has introduced the UAE's first floating waste collector, PixieDrone. Additionally, its dedicated sustainability committee, 'Seaguardians', ensures adherence to sustainable practices across all operations. These initiatives reflect Dubai Harbour's dedication to promoting environmental awareness within the maritime industry.
Later this month, Dubai Harbour will host the Dubai International Boat Show for the third consecutive year from 28th February to 3rd March 2024. This event further cements Dubai Harbour's status as a leading destination for maritime enthusiasts and professionals alike.
