Dubai To Kickstart Global Prompt Engineering Championship Tomorrow

The Global Prompt Engineering Championship is set to commence tomorrow under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. The event will feature 30 competitors from 13 countries, including Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Morocco, India, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, Austria, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.

The finalists were selected from thousands of entries spanning 100 countries. They will compete in three categories: Art, Literature, and Coding. The total prize fund for the competition is AED1 million. The first day of the event will be held at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers. Contestants will be evaluated based on speed, quality, creativity, and accuracy. The top three participants from each category will advance to the final stage at the Museum of the Future on Tuesday.

Dubai's Global Tech Contest Begins

Major global technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, and IBM are participating in the event. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is also a strategic partner. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Deputy Managing Director of DFF, stated that this competition highlights one of the most promising skills for the future.

Al Olama remarked that the championship reflects the importance of leveraging technology in creative fields to transform the future labour market and digital economy. He added that this initiative supports promising talents and encourages them to deploy Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies from Dubai and the UAE.

The event is organised by the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) and supervised by DFF. The judging panel for the Art category includes Benedetta Ghione from Art Dubai, Saeed Kharbash from Dubai Culture, and Mazen Abu Najm from Microsoft. In the Literature category, judges are Mustafa Al Rawi from International Media Investments (IMI), Ahlam Al Bolooki from Emirates Literature Foundation, and Ramesh Chander from Google. For Coding, judges are Ashraf Khan from IBM, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahmoud from the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office, and Ahmed El Sayed from Google.

Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of Emirates Literature Foundation, highlighted that prompt engineering is becoming a crucial skill for success in today's world. She expressed pride in Dubai leading a global initiative that celebrates talent in generative AI.

Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, emphasised the championship's role in inspiring visionaries to integrate human creativity with advanced technology. Mustafa Al Rawi from IMI noted that the event is an excellent way to identify and support talent while showcasing technology's role in literature and creativity.
