Dubai Achieves Eighth Place In Global Power City Index For Second Year Running

Dubai has secured the eighth position globally and leads the Middle East in the Global Power City Index 2024 (GPCI) for the second consecutive year. This annual index, published by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation, underscores Dubai's prominence in innovation, economic vitality, and global connectivity. As the sole Middle Eastern city in the top 10, Dubai reaffirms its status as a key international hub for business, talent, and investment.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attributes this success to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He stated, "Dubai continues to redefine what is possible, combining innovation, sustainability, and a focus on nurturing talent." The city offers an environment where businesses thrive, creative ideas flourish, and individuals achieve their aspirations while enjoying a high quality of life.

Dubai Ranks Eighth in Global Power City Index

The Crown Prince highlighted several factors contributing to Dubai's success. Among them is its world-class infrastructure that attracts global investments and top talent. Additionally, Dubai’s flexible legislative framework is designed to foster innovation and adapt to changing global trends. These elements are crucial in maintaining Dubai's competitive edge on the global stage.

Sheikh Hamdan also emphasized the significance of strong public-private partnerships in Dubai. These collaborations have cultivated a dynamic ecosystem conducive to growth and innovation. He remarked that Dubai’s high ranking on global indices demonstrates its role not just as a follower but as a leader setting new standards for excellence worldwide.

Reaffirming Dubai's dedication to sustainable development, Sheikh Hamdan stated that they are committed to solidifying Dubai’s status as a future-oriented city. By embracing strategic innovation and maintaining excellence, new opportunities across various industries are being created. This approach ensures that Dubai remains at the forefront of urban development.

The GPCI evaluates cities based on their ability to attract people, capital, and enterprises globally. It assesses six functions: Economy, Research and Development, Cultural Interaction, Livability, Environment, and Accessibility. This multidimensional ranking provides insights into each city's comprehensive power or "magnetism."

Dubai continues to focus on enhancing quality of life while fostering economic opportunities. The city attracts leading minds, businesses, and investors from around the world. As one of the fastest-growing cities in the index, Dubai consistently sets new benchmarks for urban innovation, connectivity, and resilience.

This achievement reflects not only visionary leadership but also collective contributions from numerous individuals committed to excellence. With its ongoing efforts towards sustainable growth and strategic innovation, Dubai is poised to maintain its position as a leading global city.
