Dubai Games 2026: 27 Teams To Challenge Reigning Champions In Battle Of The Community
The 7th Dubai Games will return from 12th to 15th February under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. Community teams will contest the Battle of the Community for the 2026 title.
During the Battle of the Community segment, 27 qualified teams will challenge the reigning champions of the Dubai Games 2025 edition. The tournament is described as Dubai’s premier team challenge championship and will again draw athletes from across the emirate’s diverse residential communities.

The Dubai Games 2026 schedule covers four days of competition, with events opening on 12 February. Alongside the Battle of the Community, organisers confirmed three additional formats: Battle of the Government, Battle of the Cities, and Battle of the Juniors. Athletes in each category will aim to secure the Dubai Games 2026 title.
The structure of the main tournament is outlined below for clarity.
{TABLE_1}The Dubai Games were first staged in 2018 and have since become a key fixture in Dubai’s community sports calendar. The event focuses on team challenges rather than individual contests. Organisers said the high standard of performance in the Battle of the Community highlights Dubai’s leadership in sports event organisation and long-term social impact.
A pre-qualifier for the Battle of the Community took place at DAMAC Hills on Saturday. From this challenge, 27 community teams secured places at the Dubai Games 2026. The pre-qualifiers drew 200 athletes representing 42 squads, underlining the wide interest in competing at the main tournament.
The qualifying event attracted strong public turnout, creating a friendly yet competitive setting. Spectator zones offered activities where visitors could try basic fitness challenges. These sessions encouraged people to test their physical abilities and consider further involvement in community sport within Dubai.
The 2026 edition will run under the slogan "Ignite, Unite, Battle" and is supported by several partners. DP World is the Official Partner, while DAMAC Group and Emirates General Petroleum (Emarat) are listed as Diamond Partners. The tournament is organised in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.
With the Battle of the Community pre-qualifiers now completed, attention shifts to the main Dubai Games 2026 competition starting on 12 February. Organisers expect strong performances from the 27 qualified community teams as they face the Battle of the Community title holders and compete for honours across all four challenge categories.
