Dubai Future Solutions: Prototypes For Humanity Receives Over 3,000 Entries From 120 Countries
Dubai is set to host the 'Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity' from 17 to 20 November 2025. This event, under the leadership of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to gather academic talents and innovators worldwide. Participants will present solutions to pressing social and environmental issues, showcasing Dubai's commitment to fostering innovation.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving Prototypes for Humanity, an Art Dubai Group initiative, in partnership with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation. It supports university innovators globally to advance their solutions towards real-world application and growth.

This year, over 3,000 submissions were received from students, recent graduates, and professors representing more than 1,200 universities across 120 countries. Prestigious institutions like Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, and MIT are participating alongside newcomers from Bolivia, Rwanda, and Uzbekistan. From these entries, 100 projects will be shortlisted for exhibition in Dubai.
The selected projects will be showcased at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers Boulevard during the event's duration. Five outstanding projects will receive honours at an awards ceremony. The exhibition will cover diverse topics such as healthcare, agriculture, water, energy, mobility, environment, and civil society.
Hussain Sajwani of DAMAC Group expressed pride in supporting this initiative. "Under its wise leadership," he stated, "Dubai has established itself as a global hub for talent, innovation, and creativity." He emphasised that the initiative inspires young innovators to develop impactful technologies benefiting people worldwide.
Khalfan Belhoul of DFF highlighted that this global initiative attracts some of the brightest minds from leading universities worldwide to Dubai. It serves as a unique platform uniting government efforts with academia and innovators to transform challenges into opportunities.
Fostering Real-World Impact
The programme offers participants access to government officials, industry leaders, venture experts, and funding opportunities. This support helps translate ideas into scalable innovations with real-world impact. Students can also engage in a dedicated programme focusing on piloting projects with regional companies.
Tadeu Baldani Caravieri of Prototypes for Humanity noted a trend towards democratising solutions this year. Innovations are becoming more accessible and affordable globally. He said: "The calibre of entries this year is testament to the reputation that we have built over the last decade."
Commitment to Sustainable Solutions
This year's submissions reveal a growing trend of highly specialised solutions tailored to real-world needs. Innovators are increasingly committed to democratising technology access so that their solutions are inclusive and globally beneficial.
Numerous innovations from previous years have progressed onto further development stages through venture-building programmes offered by the initiative. These advancements highlight academia's essential role in shaping solutions for complex global challenges.
The partnership between DAMAC Group and DFF aligns with Dubai's vision as a leading global centre for technology and creativity. Together they aim to encourage the next generation of innovators to create solutions addressing global challenges for a sustainable future.
