Government Auditor Programme Graduates Third Cohort As FAA Strengthens Regulatory Governance In Dubai
The Dubai Financial Audit Authority marked the graduation of the third cohort of the Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme, delivered with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government. The initiative aims to prepare Emirati auditors for complex oversight tasks, align skills with international standards, and support strong governance across Dubai Government entities under the Authority’s supervision.
This cohort included 22 participants drawn from 13 different Dubai Government entities. Over two structured phases, the Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme combined classroom teaching with supervised field practice. The model connected theory with real cases, helping participants move from academic concepts to applied auditing work within public sector environments in Dubai.

The programme’s first phase centred on academic learning through 29 specialised modules. Topics covered artificial intelligence in auditing, International Standards on Auditing, International Public Sector Accounting Standards, Dubai-related financial legislation, financial statement analysis, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance frameworks used by government entities in the emirate.
During the second phase, trainees joined live audit assignments under Dubai Financial Audit Authority experts. This practical stage translated classroom material into hands-on reviews of government activities and accounts. The approach strengthened technical skills, sharpened professional judgement, and prepared graduates to perform regulatory duties in line with recognised global auditing practices.

By raising the competence of government auditors, the Authority seeks to strengthen transparency, protect public resources, and ensure that oversight systems in Dubai keep pace with changing financial, technological, and regulatory conditions across the public sector.
Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director-General of the Dubai Financial Audit Authority, said, "The graduation of the third cohort reflects the Authority’s commitment to building a robust regulatory ecosystem founded on qualified national talent. The programme equips participants with the scientific tools and professional knowledge required to perform their duties effectively, in alignment with the vision of the Government of Dubai to strengthen regulatory frameworks and uphold sound governance and oversight across government entities.
He added, "Our collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government has played an important role in providing a supportive training environment that develops participants’ capabilities and prepares them to assume more advanced regulatory responsibilities. We are confident that the programme’s graduates will add value to government entities in Dubai and continue to contribute to strengthening the regulatory environment across the emirate."

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government emphasised its method of combining research-based learning with direct application. The institution supports national cadres with advanced auditing tools, data analysis methods, artificial intelligence applications, and international standards. This foundation is intended to assist more efficient government operations and align oversight practices with Dubai’s long-term policy agenda.
Over recent cohorts, the Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme has gained a strong position among Dubai’s professional development options. Participants complete training in core auditing techniques, financial legislation, data analytics, and professional ethics, while studying diverse regulatory best practices relevant to complex public sector environments.
The latest graduation highlights the continued commitment of Dubai Government entities to develop national talent and support sustainable institutional work. By qualifying more government auditors, authorities seek to respond to fast-changing regulatory requirements, maintain reliable governance systems, and reinforce the wider vision set by the Government of Dubai for accountable public administration.
