Dubai Unveils Exciting Festival Of Lights Calendar For Diwali Celebrations Starting 25 October 2024
Dubai is set to illuminate the Festival of Lights with a vibrant Diwali celebration from 25th October to 7th November 2024. Residents and visitors can look forward to a diverse range of cultural activities, comedy shows, musical tributes, theatre performances, and community events. Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), these events aim to bring joy and unity across the city.
A series of spectacular fireworks displays will mark the beginning of the festivities. These displays will take place at Al Seef on 25th October and at Global Village on 25th-26th October and 1st-2nd November, all starting at 21:00. Families and friends are invited to witness these dazzling shows lighting up Dubai's night sky.

Noor - Festival of Lights, hosted at Al Seef from 25th-27th October, is a key highlight this year. Produced by TeamWork Arts, this three-day cultural fair will showcase lights, artistic expressions, interactive experiences, and performances amidst Diwali décor. Visitors can enjoy puppet processions, theatre shows, poetry recitations, musical performances, stand-up comedy, painting workshops, and traditional Indian delicacies along the 1.8-kilometre promenade.
Deepavali Utsav 2024 is another cultural event scheduled for 26th October at Etisalat Academy in Dubai. This celebration will feature Indian folk dance performances alongside a funfair offering games, rides, and activities for all ages. Attendees can also savour various Indian delicacies from food stalls.
Shoppers can indulge in a Diwali shopping spree on 26th October at the Diwali Fiesta Exhibition held at Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers - Hotel & Residence. The exhibition will feature festive wear, jewellery, accessories, home decor items, skincare products, and handicrafts.
The Diwali Edit - Fashion & Luxury Exhibition will take place on the same day at DoubleTree by Hilton M Square. This event will showcase fashion designers' creations alongside jewellery designers' collections and home decor items.
Entertainment Highlights
Comedy enthusiasts can anticipate Romesh Ranganathan's return to Dubai with a new show at Coca-Cola Arena on 25th October. The UK comedian will entertain audiences with his sharp wit and observational humour for one night only.
Music lovers can attend The Unforgettables tribute to Jagjit Singh until 26th October at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Indian High School. Tauseef Akhtar will perform some of Jagjit Singh's greatest hits as part of this musical homage.
Theatre Performances
Theatre fans can enjoy Meera: Echoes of Love on 26th October at Dubai British School in Jumeirah Park. This performance blends dance, theatre, and music featuring seventy local artists celebrating women's strength and emotions tied to love.
Ashvin Gidwani's Barff is set to be performed at Zabeel Theatre on 8th November. Written by Saurabh Shukla who also directs and performs in it; this play promises suspenseful drama for theatre enthusiasts.
Global Village will host its own Diwali celebration from 28th October to 3rd November featuring Rangoli art painting sessions along with performances on Main Stage accompanied by fireworks displays throughout this period too! The Festival of Lights Market presented by India Pavilion offers an exciting shopping experience while dining options include traditional street food available at Indian Chaat Bazaar or dining within several restaurants onsite!
