The Future Zone is set to showcase the newest tech advancements, while The Narrows provides a bustling shopping alley for art enthusiasts. Additionally, the Family Zone offers a space for families to engage in gaming battles, and Electric Avenue presents a selection of specialized electronic retailers.
Furthermore, the Game Expo 2024 will feature activations such as esports tournaments, coding workshops, and Minecraft education challenges. Notably, on May 4 and 5, the event "Play beyond" will allow attendees to witness their favourite gaming pros compete live. An immersive experience is also planned for students on Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, where schools will take their students to explore the Game Expo.

The GameExpo Summit, a ticketed two-day networking and knowledge-sharing conference, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, at the Dubai World Centre. Additionally, the festival has organized Ramadan online tournaments, offering gamers the chance to engage in competitive play both online and in gaming cafes across Dubai.
DEF 2024 is also committed to educational engagement. Sessions with industry experts will provide students with the opportunity to test their skills through competitions like the Microsoft MakeCode Competition and the Minecraft Education Challenge. Moreover, talks by industry experts held in schools and universities will offer students insider insights into the gaming industry. In-school tournaments featuring popular titles such as Rocket League and Fortnite, along with university competitions on EAFC 24 and Valorant video games, are also part of the festival's extensive program.
Highlighting the educational aspect of the festival, DEF Gamers Day allows students from participating schools to dress up as their favorite game characters. The DEF Education Programme, offered for free to all schools and universities, emphasizes the festival's dedication to fostering a love for gaming and technology among the younger generation.
