MBRGI And Sobha Realty Pledge AED 400 Million For New Dubai Endowment University

In a significant move towards enhancing education and humanitarian efforts in Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and Sobha Realty have entered into a charitable grant agreement. This collaboration marks the establishment of an endowment university in Dubai, a project that underscores the UAE's commitment to advancing education globally. The ceremony was graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MBRGI, alongside other distinguished members of the Dubai ruling family.

The initiative is part of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to set up an AED1 billion endowment fund. This fund is dedicated to supporting educational endeavors for millions worldwide, honoring mothers and their pivotal role in nurturing future generations. Sobha Realty's contribution, amounting to AED400 million for constructing the university campus, stands as one of the UAE's most substantial charity donations to date.

The proposed university aims to offer a wide range of higher education programs for both domestic and international students, adhering to the highest international standards in education and research. Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of MBRGI, highlighted that this initiative reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s belief in education as a cornerstone for human civilization and prosperity.

PNC Menon, Founder and Chairman of Sobha Realty, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign.
