Dubai Duty Free Unveils Impressive $1.94 Billion Sales in 11 Months, Boosted by November Performance

Dubai Duty Free has achieved sales of US$1.94 billion by the end of November, aiming to surpass US$2 billion for the year. November alone saw sales of US$205.67 million, marking it as the fifth-best month in their history. The highest daily sales record for the year was set on 30th November at US$8.46 million, with 29th November following closely at US$8.24 million.

Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, expressed satisfaction with November's performance despite challenging conditions. He noted that sales in major fashion brand boutiques were lower than last year and refurbishment projects were ongoing in all three terminals' Arrivals shops. "I am very happy with the sales performance in November," he stated.

The focus on boosting sales has been a priority recently, and efforts have been made to narrow the gap between budgeted and actual spending per passenger. Cidambi acknowledged the team's dedication and looked forward to a successful December during the busy holiday season. "Thanks to the continuous effort of our entire team, I look forward to another great month in December," he added.

Perfume sales reached US$362 million, showing a 10% increase over 2023 figures. Gold also saw a rise, with a 2% increase compared to last year, totalling US$194.57 million in sales. Electronics ranked fifth in terms of revenue, generating US$134 million.

As Dubai Duty Free approaches the year's end, they anticipate closing with impressive results due to strategic efforts and strong team collaboration. The retailer's ability to adapt and thrive under challenging conditions highlights its resilience and commitment to achieving its financial goals.
