Dubai Customs Recognised As Customs Authority Of The Year 2025 At TLME Awards For Digital Innovation

Dubai Customs has been honoured with the "Customs Authority of the Year 2025" award at the Middle East Transport and Logistics Awards (TLME). This recognition was achieved through an electronic voting system, where specialists and experts in customs and logistics sectors cast their votes. The accolade highlights Dubai Customs' leadership in digital transformation within the industry.

Currently, Dubai Customs is a global leader in digital transformation technologies. Nearly 99.7% of its customs transactions are processed digitally. This high level of digitalisation has sped up procedures, reduced clearance times, and ensured smooth trade flows. These efforts align with Dubai’s vision to be a strategic global trade hub.

Dubai Customs Wins Customs Authority of the Year 2025

The Department has also developed a sophisticated security system to detect smuggling and customs fraud. This initiative enhances societal protection and strengthens the national economy. Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, noted that this achievement adds to their extensive record of accomplishments.

Recently, Dubai Customs received another accolade for its Cross-Border E-Commerce initiative under the "Hamdan bin Mohammed Government Services Programme." This initiative was recognised as the Best Pioneering Initiative. It underscores Dubai Customs' commitment to innovation in customs services using advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Valuation at Dubai Customs, accepted the award during the ceremony. He stated, "Dubai Customs has made significant strides in automating customs procedures and reducing the time required to complete transactions. We have developed services that are among the first of their kind worldwide."

Seamless Inspections Project

The 'Seamless Inspections' project by Dubai Customs represents a major advancement in customs operations. By relocating inspection procedures to an integrated system at company warehouse premises, inspection times have been cut by over 50%. This innovation signifies a qualitative leap in how inspections are conducted.

The Department's strategic plan aims to bolster Dubai’s position as a leading centre for international trade and logistics. This supports the objectives of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 by driving future transformations in global trade through innovative customs services.

This recognition reflects Dubai Customs' dedication to enhancing efficiency and security in trade processes while supporting economic growth through technological advancements.
