Youth Entrepreneurship Spotlight As Dubai Customs Hosts Little Trader Event For Future Generations

Dubai Customs has held a small customs trader event for children, giving young participants a close look at trade activities. The initiative, organised by the "Tadal for Job Happiness" team, gathered 40 children of different ages in an interactive commercial setting.

The department designed the event to resemble real marketplace conditions. Children displayed and presented their products directly to Dubai Customs employees. This approach created a learning space where theory and practice met, helping participants understand basic commercial processes through hands-on experience.

By engaging in these simulated business dealings, the children developed simple entrepreneurial skills and economic awareness. The experience encouraged decision-making, communication, and responsibility. It also supported meaningful community work by linking families, young participants, and Dubai Customs staff in one shared activity.

The programme formed part of Dubai Customs’ wider plan to invest in people from early childhood. Organisers aimed to introduce work concepts in a friendly way, so children could build self-confidence. The event helped them understand how ideas, products, and effort connect within real commercial environments.

Rashed Obaid AlSharid, Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Dubai Customs, stated that the initiative supports Dubai’s vision of preparing generations able to shape the future. AlSharid linked practical exposure to stronger personalities, better awareness of work, and greater readiness for innovation.

AlSharid explained that such activities also help strengthen community partnerships. Dubai Customs seeks to support families and children by providing a positive environment that encourages initiative and creativity. The department views its role as both institutional and social, serving customers while also serving the wider community.

According to Dubai Customs, these community-focused events align with the emirate’s goal of empowering young people and building an ambitious society. The department considers investment in children’s skills and awareness as investment in Dubai’s future, where children are treated as partners in a city "where nothing is impossible."
