Dubai Customs Launches AI Platform To Boost Innovation And Support SMEs

The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has unveiled its interactive Dubai Customs AI Platform. This new platform is designed to help developers create AI-driven systems and programmes, enhancing the customs experience. It also offers a collaborative space for small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering their growth.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the PCFC, emphasised Dubai Customs' dedication to integrating innovative technology strategies, especially in AI. These initiatives align with the Dubai Government's strategic goals and aim to strengthen Dubai's status as a leading global digital city. By incorporating AI technologies in customs and logistics, these efforts support the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and contribute to the city's economic development.

New AI Platform for SME Growth in Dubai

Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the PCFC, highlighted that the Dubai Customs AI Platform will generate new job opportunities and bolster the economic and logistics ecosystem. He noted that investing in modern technology is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and improving economic performance. The platform's launch aligns with the Dubai Digital Strategy, which seeks to ensure data maturity and effectiveness across the emirate.

Bin Sulayem explained that the new AI platform would significantly enhance the commercial and logistics supply chain. The growing importance of digital data and AI in advancing government operations makes this platform essential. It leverages modern technologies to ensure faster and more efficient operations while focusing on elevating digital data quality according to high standards of quality, ease of use, and governance.

Al Neyadi added that the platform would act as an incubator for major companies operating in AI. It aims to establish a clear path towards future advancements in customs and logistics sectors. "Through this platform, we aim to bring technological innovations that expedite our journey to global leadership in the customs and logistics sectors," he said.

Global Collaboration Opportunities

The platform provides AI-powered programmes and systems, allowing global companies to share expertise and exchange ideas that align with other parties' systems. It serves as an ideal destination for both global companies and startups in the AI field. The environment it offers is conducive for exchanging innovations and experiences.

The initiative aims to attract companies interested in AI technologies from around the world. This includes startups as well as established global entities. By facilitating collaboration, it helps develop technical solutions that improve supply chain efficiency by optimising supply and clearance operations at lower costs while ensuring high security.

The platform supports entities lacking capabilities to build non-AI-powered systems by providing them with integrated tools and programmes compatible with their current systems. Additionally, it supports the logistics sector by offering new programmes focused on supply chains, risk analysis, among others.

In conclusion, this initiative by PCFC not only advances its ambitious vision but also reinforces its leadership in innovation. By leveraging AI technologies, it contributes significantly to Dubai's economic growth while supporting small enterprises' development through collaboration spaces provided by the new platform.
