Dubai Customs Delegation Visits Expo 2025 Osaka To Explore Innovation And Sustainability
A delegation from Dubai Customs, represented by the Women's Committee, recently visited Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This visit aimed to foster cultural and knowledge exchange by exploring global innovations and sustainability practices. The delegation also sought to strengthen international ties and share expertise with other nations.
The tour included visits to several notable international pavilions such as those of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Italy, and Thailand. These visits allowed the delegation to gain insights into pioneering initiatives across various sectors presented by these countries.

One of the standout experiences was at the UAE pavilion. Maryam Salem Al Mamari, Head of the UAE Expo Office in Osaka, welcomed the delegation. She provided an overview of the pavilion titled "From Earth to Ether," which embodies the UAE's vision of merging cultural heritage with future aspirations.
The UAE pavilion focuses on four main themes: innovation, sustainability, healthcare, and space exploration. This blend offers visitors a unique experience that bridges past traditions with future goals. The design takes inspiration from palm trees and traditional Emirati arish shelters.
The pavilion features 90 columns made from agricultural palm waste and is divided into five thematic zones. Visitors can engage with multi-sensory exhibits that include visual and auditory experiences alongside digital media presentations.
Interactive Experiences and Workshops
The journey through the pavilion concludes with a documentary titled "Woven Legacies." This film shares contemporary Emirati stories and highlights innovators' roles in shaping the nation's future. Beyond exhibits, over 40 public programmes were offered.
These programmes included workshops, artistic performances, and interactive talks. Visitors could participate in traditional crafts workshops like Sadu weaving and Palm weaving. These sessions were led by Emirati craftswomen known as the "Mothers of the Emirates," providing hands-on engagement with authentic Emirati heritage.
This visit not only showcased innovative practices but also highlighted cultural exchanges that enrich understanding between nations. By sharing expertise and learning from others, Dubai Customs aims to enhance its contributions to global dialogues on innovation and sustainability.
