Dubai Convenes Second Forum To Bolster Crisis And Disaster Readiness

Dubai Police recently hosted the second forum for crisis and disaster managers to address challenges, opportunities for improvement, and future preparedness. The event, directed by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, gathered crisis and disaster managers from various government departments in Dubai.

The forum reviewed recommendations from the first meeting and discussed efforts made by different departments to achieve readiness in dealing with crises and disasters. Brigadier Ahmad Borqaiba, Director of the Resilience Centre at Dubai Police, highlighted three main themes: challenges in emergency response, preparedness issues, and suggestions for enhancing the crisis management system.

Dubai's Crisis Management Forum

Borqaiba noted that this second forum follows a previous meeting held in December last year. It aimed to discuss global experiences and the latest developments in crisis management. This contributes to enhanced work continuity and constant readiness of all teams involved.

"The second forum reflects our ongoing commitment to sustaining Dubai's position as a resilient city that can flexibly handle unexpected events and adapt to various conditions and crises," said Borqaiba. He emphasised that bringing specialists together fosters extensive brainstorming to develop ideas, initiatives, and projects supporting government efforts.

Borqaiba concluded by stressing that the UAE, particularly Dubai, is always committed to proactive readiness. This involves monitoring and handling potential crises effectively using best practices. The forum aims to ensure continuous efforts and operations in Dubai are maintained.

The event also focused on discussing global challenges in crisis management. This helps contribute to improved work continuity and readiness among all concerned parties. The gathering of experts under one roof allows for comprehensive discussions on identifying, predicting, and managing risks effectively.

In summary, the second forum organised by Dubai Police serves as a platform for crisis managers to share insights and strategies. This ensures that Dubai remains prepared for any emergencies or crises that may arise.
