Dubai Courts’ Dispute Resolution Centre Records Historic Success in Reconciliation and Settlements in 2023
Dubai Courts' Amicable Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC) has reported a remarkable performance for the year 2023, showcasing a significant increase in both reconciliation agreements and financial settlements. Issa Bin Tameem, the Director of ADRC, revealed that there was a 74.67% year-on-year surge in reconciliation agreements alongside an impressive total of AED4.77 billion in financial settlements. These achievements highlight the centre's effectiveness in fostering a culture of settlement and reconciliation, thereby contributing to the peaceful resolution of disputes.
The ADRC has become an essential resource for individuals, companies, and the broader community, aiming for settlement and justice in disputes. In 2023 alone, the centre successfully resolved 2,531 disputes through reconciliation agreements and issued 3,266 decisions to end disputes. Additionally, 910 expert disputes were settled following the submission of appropriate reports. This performance underscores the centre's commitment to facilitating swift and amicable dispute resolutions.

Bin Tameem also noted a 41% increase in registration over the previous year, indicating a growing preference for settlement and reconciliation as an efficient dispute resolution method. The centre has demonstrated exceptional efficiency, with an agreement reached in an average of 16 days from inviting disputing parties for settlement. Moreover, 598 requests for approval of reconciliation agreements were executed within just one day, further accelerating the dispute resolution process.
These accomplishments have significantly contributed to community happiness, with the happiness percentage of users reaching 98%. In line with digital transformation efforts, Bin Tameem highlighted that a 100% adoption rate was achieved for digital signatures on reconciliation agreements by all disputing parties. This advancement not only streamlines the settlement process but also ensures secure and reliable documentation of agreements.
The ADRC's impressive results for 2023 reflect its pivotal role in promoting justice and settlement in disputes. Through its efforts, the centre has not only expedited the dispute resolution process but also enhanced community satisfaction and trust in the judicial system.
